Travelling with children to Friedland

The Friedland reception centre receives families with children of all ages every day, from newborns to teenagers. A long flight, jet lag, unfamiliar surroundings and a lot of luggage make the drive to the camp its own challenge, and we help you prepare for it.

Share each child's age and height when booking. Under German road law (§ 21 StVO) children under 12 years or below 150 cm must use a child restraint. We confirm availability of a suitable seat (group 0+, 1, 2/3) or booster in advance, or you can bring your own if you already have one.

The Volkswagen Caravelle T5/T6 long-wheelbase cabin holds a family of 6-7 with several suitcases, a pushchair and hand luggage. When travelling with an infant we can add extra stops for feeding or changing.

After a long flight children benefit most from a direct route without transfers, this is the key advantage over train + bus combinations. On arrival in Friedland the driver helps carry the belongings to the correct block and points you to the reception office.
